Digital Cameras and infrared
We are all agreed that Digital cameras have come along way since the early years and are very useful when used with 35mm cameras on ghost hunts.Yes,in the early days of digital there were problems with light leakage that created light spots etc,but not anymore.Digital camera technology has come a long way since then.People don`t get as confused mistaking light spots for orbs anymore expect some novices who are new to this.I agree with others that most critics of digital cameras are not up to speed with the growing technology or they would know that todays digital cameras no longer have those flaws and are on par with the best 35mm in performace. But these two types of cameras are best used together to verify one another on hunts.
Having said that it should also be pointed out that you can get the same errors with a 35mm such as dust on the negative, scratches, processeing etc,.35mm generally have clearer images.Other than that I think the Digital is more practical to use. Alot of time is saved when you can check your pics on the spot and if you don `t like them you simply delete them. Also not well known is the fact that digitals are good at picking up low level infrared. That might be why more orbs are showing up now than before.you can test your digital camera by holding your remote in front of the camera and hold the button down and you will see the infrared bulb light up but not with the eyes.Just use common sense when ghost hunting.(Going down a dirt road and jumping out of your car to take pics right away for example)You will get orbs but not the right kind.So check for dust and pollen in the air before you begin with a high powered flashlite.Look in the beam and if you see particles in the beam don`t take pictures because thats what you`ll get.It is however a good way to learn to tell the difference between dust, pollen, water droplets and a real orb.So yes use your Digital and experiment with taking pics in different conditions and learn to do it right and be careful and not trick yourself with the false orbs and have fun.
